Turner Underground History
In the beginning…Robert (Bob) Turner saw a need for HDD in the Northeast. In his research he soon put his curiosity into action by taking a trip out west to witness first -hand the intricacies of horizontal directional drilling projects and gather practical job site information.
Five years after the formation of the North American Society of Trenchless Technology, Bob formed Turner Underground Installations. Determined to take on unique and challenging projects, the company successfully completed a range of utility distribution work, extending the capacities of the newly found company.
In five years, Turner drilled more than a thousand miles underground for projects in New Jersey, Illinois, Alabama and Massachusetts. Rhett Turner was brought on as Vice President, working alongside his father, Bob Turner. Bob’s assertive philosophy continued being an instrumental factor for expanding capabilities of the business and differentiating
The start of the new decade brought about major changes. Rhett Turner took over as President after the passing of owner, Bob Turner in March of 2020. Construction completed for Turner Underground’s new headquarters in September. The new building is 30,000 square feet of office and operational space. Five years
